Joining the VAIX
The VAIX is located in Vancouver's Harbour Centre.
If you would like to co-locate equipment in Harbour Centre, please contact us.
Additions to this list are welcome. Email redacted@vaix.ca.
Connections to the VAIX can be 10mbit or 100mbit full or half duplex ethernet using cat5 cable. If you need greater than 100mbit
please contact us to enquire about fiber options.
An email must be sent to redacted@vaix.ca letting us know of your intentions to join the VAIX. Please
include your organization infomation, contact details, ASN, routing equipment and mode of transport (10mbit, 100mbit, SMF, MMF).
Once you have a router in the building, connecting to the VAIX is a matter of running cable or fiber from your router to the VAIX
space in the 6B Meet-Me-Room on the 6th floor. If you are a tenant please contact Centre Electric to co-ordinate the run. If you are
a co-location customer please contact your co-location provider to co-ordinate the run. To co-ordinate termination please email redacted@vaix.ca.
Once you are connected you will need an IP address. Address space for the VAIX is managed by EP.net. An IP can be obtained using this form. Please
list VAIX as the exchange point.
After obtaining your IP address from EP.net you will want to contact the current participants to
arrange peering agreements. You should familiarize yourself with the rules too.
If you would like to become a tenant in Harbour Centre, please contact Harbour Centre.
If you have any questions please refer to the FAQ or email redacted@vaix.ca.
